If you want to try out the new Farm in Stardew Valley, you must start a new world and select it from the list (pictured above). If you don’t choose a location, you’ll begin your journey at the Standard Farm.

Worlds can be converted from single-player to multiplayer anytime by purchasing a cabin from Robin for 100G. You can also start a Farm with premade cabins by hosting a co-op game from the main menu.

Is the Meadowlands Farm good for beginners in Stardew Valley 1.6?

The Meadowlands Farm is certainly untraditional, but don’t let that dissuade you if you’re a new player. Raising animals is fun in Stardew Valley, and their produce yields decent money early on.

You’ve got the space to try anything you like in Meadowlands, and it’s an excellent Farm for veterans and newcomers alike.

Meadowlands Farm: All features explained

The Meadowlands Farm is unique as it’s the first Farm in the game that is clearly designed for animals. The Standard Farm is fine for livestock but pales compared to what Meadowlands offers.

Coop

For starters, Meadowlands has a prebuilt Coop and two chicks just west of the Farmhouse. The Coop has a pre-installed fence and gate, so you can let your chickens out during the day. You also start with 15 units of Hay so you can feed your birds.

Silo 1

If you’re a first-time farmer, one of your priorities at Meadowlands Farm is to purchase a Silo. This structure automatically gathers any grass you cut on your Farm with a Sickle and turns it into Hay. You can buy a Silo from Robin just north of the Village.

The Silo is essential for an animal-focused Farm as every animal eats Hay. If you ever run short, you can head south the Marnie’s Ranch and buy some from her, but it’s quite expensive in the long run.

Finally, every starting location has a Farm Cave. Once you earn 25,000G, you can choose to have it house Mushrooms or Fruit Bats. There’s no wrong answer, although Fruit Bats can help with Community Center Bundles, and most Villagers appreciate fruit as a gift.

You can find the Meadowlands Farm Cave directly south of the Farmhouse.

Is there enough space for crops on Meadowlands Farm?

Meadowlands Farm is enormous, and it will take several days to remove all the trees and stones. There’s enough space for hundreds of crops; there’s even a stream around the west side and two ponds.

Fishing

You can fish in all the water spots around the Farm, and there’s enough room for ambitious projects and to flex that creative muscle.

Are there any downsides to Meadowlands Farm?

If you prefer fishing or combat, there are better options, as Riverland and Wilderness are designed for those playstyles. Besides that, Meadowlands Farm is unrestrictive and offers a bit of everything.

The area is arguably quite large for a single player to maintain, but it’s nothing a keen or returning farmer can’t handle. If you play in a group, there’s enough space for everyone to do their own thing, and it is a great alternative to the Four Islands Farm, which is designed for multiplayer.

If you’re a new player, there’s never been a better time to dive into Stardew Valley. There are new festivals to participate in, and dialogue has been significantly fleshed out to make the game feel more alive than ever.
