Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC Dinosaurs Captivity

Next Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC, Dominion Malta, gets a release date

Jurassic World Dominion gets some representation

The recent Jurassic World movies may not have exactly impressed in terms of critical reception, but fans at least got a decent video game out of this film series. The PC version of 2021’s Jurassic World Evolution 2 currently sits at a 77 Metascore on Metacritic, with fans on Steam giving it even higher praise. And with the upcoming release of the Dominion Malta DLC expansion, fans of Jurassic World Evolution 2 can soon squeeze even more enjoyment out of the game. According to a recent Steam update, the expansion will become available to purchase for $19.99 USD on December 8, more than a week from now.

Rich Newbold, the director of Jurassic World Evolution 2, uploaded a post on the PlayStation Blog discussing the expansion, which will directly tie into this year’s Jurassic World Dominion film. The expansion takes place before the events of that film, and it will see players working alongside several of the movie’s characters to establish parks on three Mediterranean islands.

Players will “establish key buildings, develop [their] sites, and trade on the dinosaur exchange to acquire more species, eggs, and even genome data.” To develop the parks even further, players need to build a rapport with either the Authorities or the Underground.

The roster of dinosaurs grows

With this DLC expansion comes a variety of brand new dinosaur species to include in your parks, including the Atrociraptor, Lystrosaurus, and Moros Intrepidus. These species, along with the newly added variants for pre-existing species, mostly hail from Jurassic World: Dominion, so those who enjoy that film may like what they see here.

Additionally, this Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC will let players decorate their parks will all sorts of buildings inspired by the films on release, including the Acquisition Center and viewing gallery. Players can also make use of the new natural lagoon — a first for the game — and populate it with aquatic species.
