Today the Korean Game Rating Board has once again failed to rate Diablo 3 causing further delay to the game’s release.
Blizzard and the Korean Game Rating Board have been battling against each other since last year when the rating board declined to rate the game becuase of the real money auction house which they consider to be gambling.
Back in December Blizzard resubmitted the game for rating with the auction house “cashing out feature” removed but the board could not make up their minds and appeared completely confused with what to do with the game.
Today it was a similar story with the board once again failing to come to a decision. A spokesman for the rating board added:
“Committee members are conflicted about what to do with Diablo 3 because of Blizzard’s information on the game’s ‘auction house’ feature.”
With Blizzard committed to a global release, the Korean Rating Board’s failure to rate the game and understand the real money auction house has been a real sticking point.
Blizzard will now have to wait while the board looks at the game further so don’t expect a release date to be announced any time soon.
