The predicted follow-up to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has had a full reveal at E3 today. Domain registration kind of gave the game away yesterday, but now we have a full trailer and confirmation of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.
Crystal Dynamics’ sequel will allow four player co-op. Twice as many as the first title.
You’ll be working together with those other people to explore the temple, solve puzzles, avoid or deactivate traps and “defeat hordes of enemies from the Egyptian underworld.” Although co-operation is the main purpose, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will also encourage players to compete for the treasure and riches they find within the temple’s walls.
So, Lara herself is obviously one of the playable characters, but who are the others? According to Crystal Dynamics, they are “rival treasure hunter Carter Bell and imprisoned gods Horus and Isis.” In order to prevent Set from enslaving mankind, Lara (and pals) must find the fragments of Osiris for some reason. Probably because they combine into something Set doesn’t especially like.
The trailer (below) doesn’t have a precise PC release date, but does note the game is “coming soon.” This summer, perhaps?
