Platinum Games and Korra, united at last.

Activision’s TV and film tie-in games are normally cause for much suspicion, but this one is being developed by Platinum so now I don’t know what to think. Will this videogame version of The Legend of Korra be closer to Bayonetta (yaaay) or the pestilent stench of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct (booo)?

Time will tell on that front, but the choice of developer at least gives some hope that it’ll be a title worthy of the Nickelodeon series. According to IGN, the game will be a third-person combat affair with a story written by Korra’s Tim Hedrick, taking place between season two and three of the TV show. You’ll play as Korra herself, using the grab-bag of fire, water, earth and air powers befitting of an Avatar.

Not a whole lot else on the detail front for this game, other than you’ll be battling familiar Legend of Korra foes “Mecha Tanks and Chi Blockers” as well as taking part in the series’ Pro-Bending tournaments.

It’s due this Autumn, no doubt through Steam for the PC version.
