Today 30th August , Nottingham based Lockwood Publishing celebrates the launch of its most ambitious title to date, Mercia: Fractured Realms on PlayStation®Home – a 100% free-to-play MMORPG.
Lockwood is one of the UK games industry’s secret success stories. Founded in 2006 by Joel Kemp and Halli Bjornsson, the company has its roots in outsourcing, but moved quickly into the freemium and social games arena, also specialising in virtual goods. The company has enjoyed a great deal of success with PlayStation® Home games, such as SodiumOne. Its burgeoning success is evident by its growth from a team of eight to over 50 in the past three years. During that time the team has completed over 50 projects, from launching new game IPs to working with top games publishers from around the globe to bring established IPs to new platforms. The release of Mercia: Fractured Realms signals that the developer is now expanding its repertoire to encompass immersive gaming experiences more akin to a full boxed product.
The Lockwood team is incredibly proud of what has been achieved with Mercia: Fractured Realms, and believe that its stunning environments and compelling narrative will be a unique fantasy experience for PlayStation®Home users.
