Recently at TGS Sony announced a newly designed PS Vita which is set to arrive in Japan on October 10th. The new design is 20% thinner, 15% lighter and it comes with a built in 1 gb of memory. To the naked eye the design changes are easy to overlook but you can clearly see a change in “start” and “select” buttons, speaker design and then there’s the fact that it now sports a micro usb port.

The new system reportedly features a 1 hour extended battery life but at the expense of swapping the bright and vibrant OLED screen in favor of an LCD. It will be available in many colors but there is still no word as to when it will arrive outside of Japan. What do you think of the newly designed Vita?
