Lost in Random guide: The Baroness’s Tower and cannon board

I'd rather be lost in a sea of mirrors, personally

Note: The game refers to Dicey as Even’s “dice.” Yes, we know it’s “die.”

In the game, four items are required to complete the third town’s questline. One of these sees Even going up against the Baroness, who is the daughter of the king fighting against her brothers for dominion over the town. Unlike her brothers, the Baroness requires a match to allow the player to acquire her item: Neeshka’s missing arm. You have to fight your way to Baroness and talk to her. She’ll allow you to challenge her shortly thereafter. The ensuing battle is different from every other one in Lost in Random, though, as it requires you to use a cannon to beat the enemy back.

Unlike other board games in Lost in Random, you don’t need to move the piece to the end of a course to win. The board itself is in a triangle formation and requires Even to move her piece so that she can fire upon the Baroness’s tower with a cannon. But it’s not that simple. There are two kinds of places for the piece to land on. One brings up a wall that protects Even from the tower’s attacks, while the other brings out the cannon. Ostensibly, you’re supposed to fight all the enemies that keep piping into the arena. However, you don’t have to.

The best way to go about clearing this section quickly is to focus on rolling dice. Simply put, you don’t need to fight the enemies right now. Just use your slingshot on their crystals to collect energy. Once you have enough energy for a single card, you can roll the dice. Once you roll a number that gets you access to the cannon, simply dodge the enemies, get to the cannon, and shoot the tower. What makes things tricky is that you can get caught in a loop if you repeatedly roll the same number.

Here’s how to quickly destroy the Baroness’s tower with the cannon in Lost in Random

Put simply, if you roll a two and get the walls put up, if you roll another two you’ll land right back on the walls. There’s no point in waiting until you have a full hand to roll your dice, so simply focus on gathering energy while avoiding enemies. When the cannon is available, keep dodging and head straight for it. This entire section can be completed in just a few minutes as long as you stay focused. Granted, there will be a lot of enemies in the area, but Even’s dodge is more than enough to keep her out of harm’s way.

Once you shoot the tower enough times, you’ll have your victory. The Baroness will admit defeat and Even will be able to immediately acquire Neeshka’s arm. Granted, she’ll still need to complete quests for the Count and the Duke to get two other items, as well as get the murder weapon from the colossus head on the hill. Once all four of those items are handed over to Neeshka, you’ll be leaving the third town, so make sure and wrap up all the sidequests before doing so. Remember, not finishing all the sidequests is threeson. I thought that was a funny little joke they came up with. Get it? Because it sounds like treason? Okay, fine.
