Age of Conan player characters under the level of 20 on accounts that have been inactive for seven or more months have been deleted today.

As we reported last week, Funcom sent out emails to former players warning them that if they did not renew their subscription, these low level characters would be deleted. Despite the fact that many people were unhappy with this, the deletions have take place today as part of a 12 hour maintenance period.

Funcom is also closing down almost half of Age of Conan game servers worldwide, after a mass-merge takes place in the coming weeks. There will be 14 servers left for players across the US and Europe, down from the current 26.
