LucasArts Games Available Again As Disney Becomes GOGcom Publisher

After all the hype, it has been confirmed. Disney Interactive has signed with GOGcom as an official publisher.

Disney has signed with GOGcom to publish games in the LucasArts library. In their launch batch, GOGcom is offering these games in deep discounts.

Star Wars™: X-Wing Special Edition

Star Wars™: TIE Fighter Special Edition

Sam & Max Hit the Road (Windows + Mac + Linux!)

The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition

Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™ (Windows + Mac + Linux!)

Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic

Of these games, Star Wars™: X-Wing Special Edition, Star Wars™: TIE Fighter Special Edition, and Sam & Max Hit the Road are being offered digitally for the first time.  This can only be seen as a power move by GOGcom, who surely took the news that Disney was open to licensing LucasArts games after their acquisition to heart.

LucasArts has several generations of games to fill out several months of non stop releases. However, it would do Disney good to remember that they have their own games. I personally want to see them rerelease the acclaimed but underappreciated Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon. What would you like Disney and Lucasfilm bring DRM-free to GOGcom? Share your favorite LucasArts and Disney games in the comments.
