Hot news from the Paradox Interactive Convention, about one of the few Paradox games I’ll actually play! Magicka: Wizard Wars will feature a Duel Mode.
This mode – apparently in direct response to feedback from the Early Access playerbase – puts four players into an arena audience. Two of them are then randomly chosen to battle it out in front of the others; when one of them dies, one of the spectators is chosen to take their place. This cycle of carnage, death, and rebirth continues until one wizard has six kills, at which point they are crowned the ULTIMATE WINNER.
The upshot is that you can test your skills against other players in a 1v1 setting that actually has more than just two players, and it’ll also give you the opportunity to watch superior wizards from the sidelines, picking up a few tips. And then get murdered by them in a hail of flaming electric rocks.
