Mail Time PC Forest Mushroom Truck

Mail Time set to deliver a cozy, platforming adventure on PC next year

Special delivery.

A new trailer for the relaxing collect-a-thon platformer Mail Time was revealed during the Wholesome Snack segment of The Game Awards 2022. Funded on Kickstarter back in February, Mail Time promises to offer players a stress-free experience filled with colorful characters and charming scenarios. Mail Time began life as a solo project by developer Kela Van Der Deijl, but around 10 more people have lent their talents to the game since then, and they all have “a similar love of cottagecore aesthetics, cute frogs, and the LGBTQ+ community.” PC players catch a glimpse into these developers’ passions for themselves once Mail Time drops in April of 2023.

The Game Awards trailer depicts some brief snippets of laid-back platforming gameplay and text conversations alongside gorgeous hand-drawn animations. It also provides a small sample of the quirky forest animals that players will encounter on their adventure, such as a squirrel aiming to file a complaint and a rat looking for partners to start crimes with. As a Mail Scout, players will have to juggle between the various requests and demands of these characters as they offer their delivery services.

Whimsical adventures await

Between conducting deliveries and listening to the forest animals’ stories, players will jump around on mushrooms, branches, and other bits of natural forest scenery to scope out delivery routes and just generally enjoy the sights. Additionally, players can find and obtain bottle caps scattered across the game’s eight main areas, presumably for some kind of reward. Players can also customize their character “with more than 46,000 combinations between their pronouns, colors, hair style, mail bag, clothing, and skin tone.”

If you are looking for more relaxing games to play on your PC, then Mail Time should more than deliver on that front. Those wanting to learn more about Mail Time and the developers behind it can check out the official website.
