Fancy a game inspired by Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel? Then this 2-D detective game is for you.
Maquisard lets you play a lobby boy in a hotel set up like a doll house, with a soothing color palette that belies the sinister story behind one of the hotel’s tenants. Your job is to observe, eavesdrop, and take down notes to figure out who among the hotel’s guests is the government agent. Your notebook is the only tool you’re provided in this game, and it should be more than enough. Makes you wonder how much your last lobby boy knew about you.
This quirky little gem was actually created by a group of students at New York University’s Game Center, and is an official selection for the IndieCade ShowCase @ E3 2015. You can download it for free, but they do welcome donations.
