Launching a new game is a nightmare and Gazillion have fallen foul of the launch gremlins with their online ARPG Marvel Heroes which was set to go live today.

Due to launch today for pre-order early access, Gazillion has uncovered “series issues” with the game which they found last week. It’s panic stations at the moment at the studio as the team work flat-out to fix the problems.

A statement from Gazillion CEO David Brevik was just posted and reads:

Today is a big day for everyone on the Marvel Heroes team! We’re in the process of getting ready to put the game live, but it’s going slower than we hoped.

Late last week, we found some serious issues that we felt we could not launch the game with. The entire Marvel Heroes team has been working for the last 96 hours straight to get the game ready. This process is nearly complete and ask for your patience.

We always want to find these types of potential errors, so we’re glad we had the opportunity to fix them in advance of launch.

We will not leave this studio until you can play the game. We hope this will be in a matter of hours.

For those who purchased Ultimate Packs, we’re working to get the game up and running as soon as possible. We’ll issue updates here as we get them.

We appreciate your understanding,

An further update is expected to surface around 6PM PDT.

Update: The 6PM update reads: “We’ve made good progress and we plan on getting #MarvelHeroes Ultimate Pack Founders in the game tonight. We’ll update again in 2 hours.”
