Piranha Games has taken the plunge today and launched MechWarrior Online on Steam.
This is a big move for the developer who up until today utilised their own game client. The launch on Steam will without a doubt bring new players to the game which can only be good for the MechWarrior Online community long-term.
Today’s launch also brings 25 Steam Achievements and there’s various DLC packs to pick up for a price if you stick with it.
Piranha stated last month that they are fully behind the game. CEO Russ Bullock said they “are absolutely not finished with development on MechWarrior” and they have “every intention of maintaining the improved pace of development seen in 2014/2015 on into the year 2016 and beyond.”
The free to play MechWarrior Online now has its own Steam page and it’s available to play right now if you fancy stomping around in some huge mechs.
