Warner want to get Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor into the hands of gamers earlier than expected.
Originally planned for a 7 October released, Warner has moved the release date forward to 3 October. There’s not been any reason given as to why it’s coming early but it’s probably to avoid other releases around the same time.
Alien Isolation is coming out on 7 October and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel comes out on 10 October so I’m pretty sure Warner will want to beat those releases to the punch. Those two big releases are not exactly the same as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor but gamers will only have so much cash in their wallet during what is the busiest period of the year for game releases.
