Today is the day that owners of Minecraft on Xbox 360 will be able to begin working on their own grand design. The 1.8.2 update for the game adds creative mode, meaning it’s time to dust off those pix axes and get to building/destroying.

More edibles, mobs, music discs and a range of bug fixes are also included in the update.

The news on the update’s release came (as everything seems to nowadays) via Twitter, in a message from developers 4J Studios:

“Microsoft has confirmed that we’ve passed Cert Test, and the 1.8.2 update will be out tomorrow (October 16th)!”

Further notes on the update can be found here.
