The exchange of words between Cliff Bleszinski  and Markus “Notch” Persson continued over Persson’s decision to not bring Minecraft to the Oculus Rift earlier this week following the Facebook acquisition of Oculus VR.

Notch had said that he would not be bringing Minecraft to Oculus as he didn’t trust Facebook. Bleszinski  said that Persson  looked like “a pouty kid” and was  “taking his ball and going home” shortly after Persson made the announcement on his blog and Twitter.

Persson was back on Twiiter to clarify that the version of Minecraft he was proposing was in fact going to be free to help promote the VR device. He also told the world he’s not driven by capitalism.

Sometimes it’s just better to keep your thoughts to yourself and not hit Twitter to vent or express opinions.

The debate is still raging  as to whether Facebook’s involvement is good for Oculus and VR. Backers of the Kickstarter are still upset that an independent company used their funds to push for VC money and ultimately a sale without a finished product even seeing the light of day. No matter which side of the fence you’re sitting on, VR development continues at Oculus and the dust now needs to settle.

In time we’ll find out of the acquisition was a solid move for consumers but all that depends on how involved Facebook becomes.

You can read Peter’s thoughts on the acquisition which were posted earlier this week.
