New Mount & Blade Ii Bannerlord Update Brings Back Auto Block (2)

TaleWorlds Entertainment has released a new Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord update, and it will change the game substantially. That is because a much-wanted feature is back, alongside fixes for gameplay that make everything so much better.

Instead of failing really badly at blocking, you can now set your block direction to be automatic. No more awkward flicking of the mouse to prevent damage. This option will help players ward off the closest incoming attack with a block as long as they press the button. My character is already howling in delight at not having to deal with my inaptness anymore. The new Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord update also changes how bandit hideouts work.

Previously, players were given a ragtag selection of troops for attacks on bandit hideouts. Now, your highest level troops or a custom roster can be assembled to take them down. The number of enemy combatants has also been tweaked to prevent your armies from being crushed by overpowered outlaws.

A bevy of fixes

Finally, gameplay in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has become much faster for those that like to talk a lot. A loading screen is no longer necessary if you initiate dialogue with other parties from the map. Diplomacy really does save time. Additional changes in the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord update include more options for weapons among your troops. The developer also rebalanced multiple weapons. Furthermore, your Levy Crossbowmen will finally be seen as ranged units. Players can also show their appreciation when winning by pressing “0” to cheer with soldiers.

The full patch notes can be found on Steam, and there is plenty to get through. Similar to other Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord updates, there is also a new 1.5.0 beta patch to try out. That includes an overhaul of combat formation AI, but be warned, it is less stable. If you grow tired of war and wish to create rather than destroy, also consider checking out the modding tools update coming to the game soon.
