We kind of knew this was on the cards but it’s sad to see Flagship Studios take the necessary decision to discontinue testing of their free to play action RPG Mythos which has received a good response from the gaming community.
As of now, the Mythos Beta test has been shut down although Flagship are calling it a ‘hiatus’ so we’re still unsure what the future holds for the game. Much will depend on what happens with HanbitSoft who are claiming ownership of the Mythos IP despite statements from Flagship indicating the contrary.
The update on the Mythos site reads:We regretfully announce that on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:59 PST the world of Uld known as Mythos will be going on hiatus. On behalf of all of the Devs and Community team we want to say thank you to everyone for their support and assistance with Mythos Alpha and Beta testing and we will see you soon.Will we see Mythos again? Will Hellgate: London ever accept new subscribers and will development continue on the game? These and other questions will hopefully be answered by Flagship Studios in due course.
