According to industry insiders, the future of NCSoft’s Austin based studios are in doubt. Home to the Tablua Rasa and Dungeon Runners team, it appears the lack of subscribers to both games has become a real concern to the Korean based publisher. The rumours this evening include Tabula Rasa development continuing in Seatle with Arena.Net, creators of GuildWars, and the free to play Dungeon Runners being closed down completely. There has also been whispers of limiting any collaboration between the Garriot brothers and NCSoft in the future.

Tabula Rasa was another MMO that was over-hyped and failed to deliver. Among these rumours today there’s talk of the game being shut down unless things improve by next year. With the MMO space being highly competitive and the much talked about titles such as Warhammer Online and The Wrath of the Lich King expansion on the horizon, we doubt there’s much the Tabula Rasa team could do at this stage to salvage the situation.

Fear not City of Heroes and GuildWars fans, if the the rumours do come true, both these titles will be unaffected by and shake-ups.Thanks Massively.
