Since the game launched in the early hours of this morning, ArenaNet decided to close off their official forums due to the strain they were under. So far registering a new account has been a little hit and miss but you have to just stick with it and it will eventually go.
With no official support channels other than Twitter right now, the community may be able to help out. Guild Wars 2 players can check the Guild Wars: IncGamers tech support and bug forums for some extra help and the community will help out if they can.
