New EverQuest II Subscription Plan Unveiled

Sony Online Entertainment has unveiled a new alternative to its monthly subscription plan for its long-running MMO EverQuest II; $5 USD for three consecutive days online.

Until now, the cheapest option for casual EQII players was the a monthly subscription of $14.99 USD. For those who don’t get to play as often as they like, or maybe had a second account that they didn’t get much use out of, this new plan dubbed ‘Passport’ is ideal; Fork out just $5 USD for three consecutive days of play in a single 30-day period.

SoE has listed a few instances where this might work well for EQII players:
Game Update Events Bonus XP Weekends Multiboxing Special Promotions Station Cash Sales
Of course, in terms of value for money it’s not great, I think five to seven days for $5 USD would’ve been more fair, but if you only use the account once in a blue moon, it’s still going to save you money.
