New Need For Speed To Be Revealed At E3?

An overly vague twitter update from Criterion suggests the company is planning to reveal something, and much of the evidence points toward it being a new Need For Speed title.

Clearly it would be too easy for them to simply announce this, so instead we have to play educated guessing games.

Criterion’s enigmatic statement suggests a reveal of something in “the City of Angels” – so the company is either planning to flash its junk from atop the Hollywood sign, or make some kind of presentation at E3.

Back in June 2009 Kotaku spoke with EA CEO John Riccitiello, who confirmed that Criterion Games would be making a “revolutionary” new Need for Speed. It was also stated that the team would be led by Alex Ward.

Ward has been making some twitter posts of his own (since deleted), which referred to “a return to the original 3DO version” of Need for Speed.

Putting all of this together, it seems safe to say that Criterion will be demonstrating a new Need for Speed at E3.Or it’s the flashing the junk in Hollywood thing. One of the two.
