New World Open Beta

New World gets an Open Beta and new Chart Your Fate trailer

You're Christopher Columbus, but America is full of magic and monsters.

It has been rough sailing for Amazon Game Studios in their journey to get New World released. The studio’s first MMORPG has been delayed numerous times, but it looks like it is on course to meet its September 28 release date. During Opening Night Live at gamescom 2021, the developer released a new trailer for New World, and it announced there will be an Open Beta before launch.

The Open Beta is a final chance to test servers and unearth bugs in the MMORPG. It’s also a chance for those who encountered technical difficulties or were unable to beat the queues during the Closed Betas to finally set foot in Aeternum. The Open Beta will run from September 9 at 10 AM EST to September 13 at 2:59 AM EST.

The New World Open Beta will use Steam’s new Playtest feature to grant players access to the game. If your region is included, you will need to request access through this feature in order to play. There will be servers in North America, Europe, Australia, and South America.

Amazon specifically mentioned that the server capacity will be greater than the closed Betas. However, there still may be some queues. It also promised that server capacity will be even larger when New World launches.

You are the master of your own destiny

As for the latest New World trailer shown at gamescom 2021, you can check it out above. After following the game’s development for some time, I finally understand the basis of its narrative. You are an explorer venturing to a new land (that should have been obvious) called Aeternum. This island holds power and treasure, two key hallmarks of any MMORPG. But to get them, you need to deal with beasts, monsters, and malicious magic.

The New World Chart Your Fate trailer shows off some large-scale battles, awesome-looking cosmetics, epic abilities, and more. I’m finally excited to create my character and begin my journey.

If you’d like to learn more about New World ahead of the Open Beta, you can do so on the game’s website. You can also pre-order it through Steam or from Amazon.
