This might be due to the pending litigation between 3DRealms and Gearbox over the rights to Duke’s name.
A new site has popped up to replace alloutofgum.com, this time carrying the words nogumneeded.com. It also has this thing on top as a gif.
Why would 3DRealms do this? They simply may not want to tie up development with the license. Dropping Duke from this game does not necessarily mean they’ve given up on their rights to him. We’ll make sure to keep you up to date on the rights to the Duke and development on this game.
