The franchise known as Five Nights at Freddy’s started as a small, point-and-click survival horror. No one would have guessed, even myself, that it would grow to become a cult classic, having rapid installments released on a frequent basis. Now, developer Scott Cawthon is announcing FNAF World, a game much wider in scope than the previous titles. And, with that, he admits that the story has concluded in the Five Nights at Freddy’s realm.
The new game that I’m working on will be called FNAF World. It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I’ve been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week.-Scott Cawthon
The new title promises to be a role-playing game, combining the efforts of previous characters in your “party.” This is in high contrast of the previous titles and will no doubt take a much more demanding course in development time. Scott says he would have liked a demo ready prior to Halloween, but it doesn’t look like he will be on pace for that. But, who knows. We could be in fore a spooky surprise.
What do you think? Are you ready for Five Nights at Freddy’s to deviate from its prior installments?
