Nuketown 2025 Map Returned to Call of Duty Black: Ops 2

Last night Treyarch decided to pull the Nuketown 2025 map from the roster following the conclusion of the double XP weekend. This was a not a popular decision as far as the community were concerned.

The update on Twitter from Treyarch’s design director David Vonderhaar read:

Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don’t kill the messenger.

“Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games.”

The Nuketown 2025 map was part of the pre-order package and it was never made clear that it would be yanked at any point and it wasn’t exactly living up to it’s tagline of 24/7.

After some internal discussions another Tweet appeared:

You killed the messenger, but I still fight for the users. RT to #bringbackNuketown2025 and we will add to a small maps moshpit.

Finally, Activision and Treyarch relented this morning after the community outcry and they created the  new “Chaos Moshpit” playlist which now includes the Nuketown 2025 map.
