Nvidia GeForce 387.92 drivers released for Shadow of War

Nvidia GeForce 387.92 drivers released for Shadow of War

A new set of Nvidia drivers is available today (387.92), intended to support Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, The Evil Within 2, and Forza 7. The company focus on the Shadow of War support in that article, and include GPU suggestions for various resolutions and settings.

If you want to run Shadow of War at Ultra settings and 60fps/4K, Nvidia reckon you’ll need a pair of 1080ti cards in SLI. However, for 1080p at High, a rather more modest 1060 (albeit the 6GB version) is recommended. The game has optional 4K cinematic and texture packs on Steam, so if you’d rather download 67GB rather than 97GB you can opt out. Of course if you actually want to use the 4K stuff, you’ll need to download it.

A new video showing Shadow of War running at 60fps and 4K accompanies the driver announcement. You can see that below, along with the notes for this release.

When nvidia gives special atention to a release you can only expect troubles, problems, bad optimization, framerate issues, wrong framepacing, stuttering etc. Nvidia sponsoring the next big thing usually means they want you to buy new shit. I’m glad im not following big releases anymore, they usually gives lots of headaches for PC gamers.
