Oculus Rift horror Alone being fleshed out on Kickstarter

I talked about a spooky little Oculus Rift game called Alone on the podcast the other day. From what I can gather, it’s a game in which you play as someone sat on their couch, playing a game. So… you’re playing a game, within the game. And then spooky stuff starts happening in the virtual room around you. It sounds quite messed up… and now it’s on Kickstarter, asking for $25,000 so that they can flesh out the 10-minute prototype into a 45-minute game.

Rewards are roughly what you’d expect – $10 gets you a copy of the title, while higher donations unlocks bits and bobs like a digital artbook, a (real) postcard, t-shirts, plushies, the ability to have the Gamertag of one of the characters in the game-within-the-game The Witching Hour named after you… right the way up to the genuinely sadistic $5,000 reward, which has the team recreate your living room in the game, just for you. So you’re sat in your living room, wearing a VR headset that puts you in your living room, playing a horror game that makes spooky shit happen in your virtual living room.

Nope. Not doing that. Nooooo.

You can have a look at the Kickstarter page over here, or have a watch of the pitch video below.
