OnLive has announced they are closing operations. Along the way, the games are closing shop as well, and to put it simply, no one who used the service will get to keep their games.

This means all games, all save data, achievements etc. No refunds are available for any purchases, rentals, or subscriptions. Exceptions are there for users who bought their games via Steam. However, if you did so to stream them on Mac via Onlive, you’re also screwed. If you used Cloudlift to save your Steam achievements, you do have that as well.

There are also partial refunds for the OnLive hardware, but they are not compatible with any other products, so don’t expect to find use for them unless they get hacked.

Don’t believe me? You can read the support FAQ here, and they clearly waited to announce after April 1. OnLive subscribers at least have until the end of April to make the most of what they have.
