Order of War Dated, New Screenshots

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Square-Enix’s World War II action-strategy title, Order of War, will be released this September.Order of War removes base-building and resource gathering from the traditional RTS formula so that it can focus instead on the combat, which lets players control infantry, tanks, artillery, and aircraft. We’re promised up-close detail “previously unseen in the strategy genre,” which is a big claim considering Relic titles like Company of Heroes and Dawn of War.”Order of War takes strategy games in a new exciting direction, by focusing the action on the best part of the battles and challenging gamers to defeat the most powerful armies of WWII,” says Victor Kislyi, CEO of developer Wargaming.net.Square-Enix clearly thinks highly of the title, with the company’s vice president of brands in PAL regions Larry Sparks adding “Wargaming.net has been very clever to create a fantastically accessible game that eliminates the slower elements of the strategy genre to deliver the non-stop action that keeps the player at the frontline of historic WWII battles.”You can check out our hands-on preview here, see if your system is up to the task with a gander at the minimum specs, or just gaze longingly at the new screenshots below.
