Boss farming runs

There are seven bosses that you’ll face in Outriders‘ campaign. Sadly, only a select few are viable: the Molten Acari and Chrysaloid.

Why farm the Molten Acari?

Story Point: Eagle Peaks – Investigate the Volcano’s Peak.

The reason you want to farm the Molten Acari boss in Outriders is that it often drops titanium (roughly 20 pieces). Even if you’ve only selected World Tier 1, you could still continue amassing titanium for your item-leveling needs. Just go back to the lobby after picking up the loot/resources. Don’t bother interacting with the fast travel icon.

Note: You can learn more about this encounter in our Molten Acari boss guide.

Why farm the Chrysaloid?

Story Point: Forest Enclave – Track down the Chrysaloid.

The Chrysaloid boss drops guaranteed epics even at lower World Tiers (i.e., WT5 and onwards). It’s also a relatively easy boss fight even if you crank up the difficulty (provided that you’ve got acceptable gear, of course). The first phase has attacks that are easily telegraphed, and you’re mostly ensuring that its carapace has been ruptured. Once you reach phase 2, it’s all about quick nuking. If you have a sniper rifle, just blast its ruptured innards while it’s casting one of its abilities.

After killing the boss, pick up the loot, but don’t interact with the fast travel point. It’ll lead to several unskippable cutscenes. Just press the “escape” key and return to the lobby.

Note: You can learn more about this encounter in our Chrysaloid boss guide.

What about the other bosses?

Other bosses in Outriders such as Gauss, Moloch, and Altered Bailey aren’t worth farming at all. Yagak (in the Utargak location) is viable. But, since farming implies picking the highest World Tier, you do need stellar weapons if you want to nuke him fast. The loot you get from this boss fight will be in the chest after the cutscene, but you’re only guaranteed a legendary on your first kill. Past this point, you might find rares or purples, and maybe the occasional titanium (Yagak doesn’t drop this as often as the Molten Acari).

As for the second Yagak encounter in the Caravel, well, it’s a two-phase fight that’s going to be very tough. It’s not advisable to farm at all.

All right, now that we’ve talked about the epic and legendary farm in Outriders, let’s discuss Monster Hunts and Wanted Bounties.
