Publisher THQ and developer Volition Inc have today proudly announced that over one million characters have been created in the Saints Row ‘Initiation Station’. Initiation Station allows you to create a character and upload it to the Saints Row community site, you can then download it into your game when it’s released in the UK on 18 November 2011.
Seeing as I’m currently working on next week’s review for Saints Row The Third, I’d make a conservative estimate that 70% of those characters are whores, gangster and/or gimps. Not that I’ve ever created such a thing…
“The characters we’ve seen are mostly ridiculous, often hilarious, and always over-the-top. And now there are a million of them,” said Kevin Kraff, Vice President, Global Brand, THQ. “With the crazed creativity we’ve seen in only one week, we can’t wait to see what’s to come. One million is just the beginning.”
So far 1.2 million people have loggen into the Initiation Station and the most popular “non-traditional” skins colours are red, green and metallic silver. THQ also told us “there are 24 created characters tagged by users as “God,” representing a variety of religious backgrounds.”
Look for our Saints Row The Third review early next week.
Like whores? Check out our hands-on with Saints Row: The Third’s ‘Whored Mode’. Yes, it’s a real thing.
