Overwatch competitive play not delayed – Still coming in June

There had been reports that Blizzard has postponed the release of Overwatch‘s competitive mode until July instead of the planned June release date. This is not the case.

Blizzard has confirmed that it will be added in June. The update reads:

“Sorry about this! Competitive Play will be coming later in *JUNE*, not July. Apologies again for the error.”

Competitive play was pulled from the beta test as Blizzard realised it needed more work and also finalise its structure before placing it back into the game.

All Overwatch fans can breathe a sigh of releif and the date mishap appears to have been a communication error at Blizzard or just a really bad typo.
