Netcode is always a hot topic when it comes to shooters and Blizzard are now ready to talk about how it all works in Overwatch.
In this video lead engineer Tim Ford and senior engineer Philip Orwig are covering topics such as current techniques and known issues, and upcoming netcode improvements planned for Blizzard’s shooter.
The team has been listening to feedback during testing and this video gives a few examples of how they are handling the netcode. There’s plastic cup props on-hand to demonstrate how the server and clients handle the information as data is getting passed back and forth between the two.
