An ode to old-school beat ’em up games, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin will have you following a path of vengeance.
After the Fall (Vertigo Games)
A VR game set in Los Angeles during a zombie plague outbreak.
Alaloth – Champions of the Four Kingdoms (Gamera Interactive)
Play as a human, elf, dwarf, or orc and explore a massive world in this ARPG. Alaloth is being developed in collaboration with Chris Avellone.
Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards (Digiart Interactive)
An action-RPG based on the Aluna comic book series.
Among Trees (FJRD Interactive)
A survival sandbox set in a lush wilderness with, of course, trees!
Baldur’s Gate 3 (Larian Studios): 2020 – Early Access
The granddaddy of CRPGs and the kickstarter of everything that needed to get kicked has finally returned. Baldur’s Gate 3 is in development, but the release date has yet to be announced, but it’s gotten everyone excited at E3 2019. Helmed by Larian Studios, the folks behind the Divinity games, you know it’s going to be filled to the brim with RPG goodness.
Featuring 4K hand-drawn graphics and three-player couch co-op, the Battletoads finally make their return to modern gaming. We’re hoping the side-scrolling beat-em-up is still as frustratingly difficult as ever. Battletoads will be available for Xbox Game Pass users who will be able to play it on PC.
Biomutant (THQ Nordic)
An open-world adventure game that combines shooting, melee combat, martial arts, and even mutant abilities.
Castle Storm 2 (Zen Studios)
Bring your knights and gryphons and smash those fortresses.
Chernobylite (The Farm 51)
A survival action game where you explore the deadly contaminated zones surrounding Chernobyl. The game is currently part of Steam’s early access program and is expected to officially release in 2020.
Chivalry 2 (Torn Banner Studios)
Did somebody order a battle axe and a suit of armor? Well, it’s time to get medieval. Steam already has Mordhau, and it looks like Chivalry 2 will be competing as an Epic store exclusive.
Cris Tales (Dreams Uncorporated)
Cris Tales is an ode to classic JRPG art and mechanics, where you get to glimpse into the past all while altering the present and future. A free demo will be available until June 24.
Crusader Kings III (Paradox Interactive): 2020
One of the most popular grand strategy games, Crusader Kings II, will finally have a continuation of the series.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course (Studio MDHR)
A DLC offering which packs quite a punch (and a new challenge) for your heroes. It also introduces Ms. Chalice, a new character that will be playable for the DLC and the original adventure.
Desperados 3 (Minimi Productions)
A real-time strategy game set in the wild west.
Disintegration (V1 Interactive)
Designed by one of Halo’s co-creators, Marcus Lehto, and published by Private Division and Take-Two Interactive, Disintegration looks to make its mark as a sci-fi FPS.
Dual Universe (Novaquark)
A civilization-building MMORPG. Will undergo alpha in 2019; beta and subsequent release in 2020.
Evil Genius 2: World Domination (Rebellion)
The first game released all the way back in 2004. The sequel will be releasing in 2020 and it’s ready to kick down the doors of the baddie’s lair. No, wait — you’re the bad guy, and it’s up to you to set up your defenses and train your minions to stave off the heroes.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout (Mediatonic)
It’s part-battle royale, part-game show, and 100 percent chaos. Fall Guys will pit 100 players in multiple rounds and contests. Some will advance and many will fail, all until there’s only one left standing.
Frog Fractions: Game of the Decade Edition (Twinbeard)
A browser-based game that lets you control a frog idly waiting by as it grabs insects.
Gods & Monsters (Ubisoft)
From the makers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Gods & Monsters will let you explore a world teeming with danger and wonders, owing to the influence of Greek mythology. This and a couple of other major titles from Ubisoft have been delayed, with no definite release date as of yet. This is following the poor reception of Ghost Recon Breakpoint which led Ubisoft to adjust their financial targets.
Ghostrunner (One More Level)
A cyberpunk-themed action game with a lot of parkour stunts and free-running.
Gladiux (Starcaster Games)
A combat game where you battle in the ludus or coliseums as a gladiator.
GTFO (10 Chambers Collective)
A four-player FPS co-op that pits you against nightmarish alien hordes.
Guilty Gear Strive (Arc System Works)
The next game in the Guilty Gear franchise comes out in 2020.
Humankind (Amplitude Studios)
Amplitude Studios (Endless Space/Endless Legend) already considers Humankind their magnum opus. In this turn-based 4X strategy game, you design your avatar and you lead your civilization as it continuously evolves. Your avatar and culture evolves as well, taking shape similar to ones that existed in history, or something else entirely that’s of your own making.
King’s Bounty 2 (1C Entertainment)
The original King’s Bounty game was released in 1990. It was followed by King’s Bounty: The Legend, a revamped and renewed take on the classic. Since then, it has spawned numerous expansions and additional content, but never an actual sequel… until King’s Bounty 2 which comes out next year.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (TT Games)
This action-adventure game will feature your favorite characters from the Star Wars films (as LEGO figures). Best of all, the entire game will span all nine films from Episode I: The Phantom Menace to the upcoming Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. No storefront page is available at this time.
Microsoft Flight Simulator (Microsoft)
We last saw a Microsoft Flight Simulator PC game back in 2014. The long-running franchise will be returning in 2020.
Naraka: Bladepoint (24 Entertainment)
A flashy action game where with emphasis on platforming via lots of jumps, wall-climbing, and grappling hooks.
Necrobarista (Route 59)
A visual novel where the living meet the restless dead, all while people mingle at a coffee shop.
Ode to a Moon (Colorfiction)
You’re a journalist covering a strange festival when a lunar eclipse sends the inhabitants in a flight of madness. A demo is already available on Steam, though an official release is expected in 2020.
Per Aspera (Tion Industries)
You are an AI and your goal is to terraform Mars into a lush, habitable planet. You’ll do it by way of technological marvels and with the help of astronauts. You’ll also be able to view the different areas of Mars that have been mapped by NASA.
Psychonauts 2 (Double Fine)
The long-awaited sequel to one of gaming’s greatest cult classics. It’s getting closer one agonizing year after another. It’s been delayed to 2020 because, hey, it’s Psychonauts 2.
Rainbow Six Quarantine (Ubisoft)
Imagine Rainbox Six with zombies, and that’s what you’ll get from Quarantine. It will feature a team of three operators versus mutated hordes. This and a couple of other major titles from Ubisoft have been delayed, with no definite release date as of yet. This is following the poor reception of Ghost Recon Breakpoint which led Ubisoft to adjust their financial targets.
Read Only Memories: Neurodriver (MidBoss)
The game combines narrative-driven adventure and point-and-click-based gameplay. There are even some easter eggs and tie-ins to Va-11 Hall-A.
Resolutiion (Monolith of Minds)
An adventure game which pays homage to classics SNES titles with Legend of Zelda-esque presentation, although it might also remind you of the more recent Hyper Light Drifter.
Roller Champions (Ubisoft)
A competitive sporting game where you take on the opposing team on your rollerblades. Perhaps it will give Rocket League a run for its money?
Rogue Company (First Watch Games)
Light ’em up and mow down your foes in a tactical shooter where you play as elite mercenaries.
Sable is a coming-of-age tale of discovery through exploration across a strikingly rendered open world desert.
Co-op, survival, and PvP in a post-apocalyptic frozen world are the highlights of Scavengers.
Session (crea-ture Studios)
He’s possessed to skate. Currently a Steam Early Access title that’s expected to officially launch in 2020.
Soda Dungeon 2 (AN Productions, Poxpower)
A laid-back dungeon crawler where you can craft and upgrade your town and base.
Spiritfarer (Thunder Lotus Games)
Spiritfarer is a cutesy and cozy game… about death. As the ferryman of the dead, you can farm for materials to build your boat, bringing the deceased with you as you sail to new lands. Ultimately, you’ll have to guide them to the afterlife that awaits.
Star Citizen: Squadron 42 (Cloud Imperium Games)
A single-player spacefaring game set in the Star Citizen universe. Alpha and beta releases, and possibly a full version, are expected to release in 2020.
An MMORPG set in an expanding universe with destructible environments. Will be releasing via Steam Early Access this year.
Starpoint Gemini 3 (Little Green Men Games)
An adventure/space flight sim in a vast open-world that takes you beyond the Gemini system.
Starship Troopers – Terran Command (The Aristocrats)
With humanity on the verge of extinction, you’ll need to take control of soldiers to defeat the Arachnids in this RTS. It’s time to do your fight against the bugs, citizen. Would you like to know more?
Streets of Rage 4 (Lizardcube)
The classic beat-em-up that long-time arcade gamers remember fondly is back.
Stronghold: Warlords (FireFly Studios)
Stronghold: Warlords is all about shoring up your castle’s defenses or storming the walls in a siege battle. The focus would be on the Far East, as you get to control Warlords — khans, samurai, imperial generals, and more — during your conquests.
Super Meat Boy Forever (Team Meat)
Meat Boy returns in this adventure that takes you through, apparently, 7,000 levels!
Surviving the Aftermath (Iceflake Studios Oy)
Currently available as an early access title via Epic, this strategy management game will have you building and protecting your colony in a post-apocalyptic world. The official release will be in 2020.
Tales of Arise (Bandai Namco)
The seventeenth (!) entry in the Tales franchise.
Terraria: Journey’s End (Re-Logic)
Is it an expansion, or is it a major update? Well, it’s both. Terraria: Journey’s End will become the fourth major patch for the game. It will feature a new difficulty mode, a bestiary, more enemies and items, and, well, even golf!
The Academy (Pine Studio)
An adventure game where you can solve around 200 puzzles to uncover the secrets of your school.
The Falconeer (Tomas Sala)
Explore a vast ocean world on a gigantic falcon as you fight against other flying beasts.
The King Of Fighters XV (SNK)
Not much is known about the upcoming title except that it’s being developed by SNK and is slated for a 2020 release. For now, take a look at the trailer for the most recent game in the franchise.

This Land Is My Land (Game-Labs)
Made by the folks behind Ultimate General, This Land Is My Land is an ambitious historical title where you play as a Native American facing encroaching settlers.
Tormentum 2 (OhNoo Studio)
A point-and-click game set in a dark and horrifying land.
Total War Saga: Troy (Creative Assembly)
The Greek kings and the lords of Troy will do battle in the next Saga game for the Total War franchise.
Truck Driver (SOEDESCO)
Play as, you guessed it, a truck driver. Haul cargo and take on various jobs as you build your career.
Tunic (Andrew Shouldice)
A cutesy adventure featuring a heroic fox.
Twin Mirror (DONTNOD)
Dark psychological thriller from the team behind Life Is Strange. Will arrive in 2020 as a timed exclusive for the Epic Games Store.
Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy (Ludomotion)
A rogue-like game set in the overworld and far from the confines of dank dungeons.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 (Hardsuit Labs/Paradox Interactive)
The return of the cult classic RPG set in the World of Darkness. The sequel has been slightly delayed. It will no longer release in the first quarter of 2020, though it’s still expected to come out some time next year.
Watch Dogs Legion (Ubisoft)
Set in a post-Brexit UK, Watch Dogs Legion will let you use your technical savvy and hacking skills, as well as giving you the ability to play as other characters in the game world. Warhammer 40,000: Dakka Squadron (Phosphor Games)

A fast-paced shooter starring Ron Perlman. An open beta is currently available.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (Sega)
A remastered version of the latest Yakuza game. Yakuza 6 was expected to come out in 2019 according to Sega’s financial report, but we could be seeing a 2020 release date instead.
Dying Light 2 (Techland)
Say goodbye to Harran. Actually, say goodbye to most of humanity. The living have been nearly wiped out by the virus, and the undead stalk the lands in this massive new city. Dying Light 2 will also feature co-op action for up to four players. The game has been delayed with no tentative release date window.
Horizon: Zero Dawn (Guerrilla Games)
The hit Sony exclusive may wind up on your PCs this year.
Sonic 2020 (Sega)
The current “Sonic2020” project is rumored to lead to a new game starring everyone’s favorite hedgehog.
Overwatch 2 (Blizzard)
The sequel to Blizzard’s fan-favorite multiplayer shooter, Overwatch 2 promises to deliver the big thrills. The game will also have a PvE mode and the cosmetics you’ve earned in the original will still be present. Rumors point to a 2020 release date due to a now-deleted tweet from Sony PlayStation Brazil’s official account.
Mortal Kombat Kollection Online (Netherrealm)
Rumored to be a collection, err, “kollection” of past Mortal Kombat games.
