This past week has been a little slow on the old updates here at PC Invasion but there has been a good reason for it. Late last week we ran a few tests on numerous parts of the site and decided there were a number of issues that really did need resolving.
The problem we faced was old code that was kicking around from the previous site prior to changing the name of the site a couple of years ago. A lot of the stuff lurking around was really hampering performance so we took the decision to restart from scratch so as to avoid stumbling into old snippets of code. Tough decision but it removed a whole load of headaches.
The main issue has been site speed which over time has degraded as more bits and pieces were added. With that in mind, a load of stuff has been stripped out to streamline and speed the site up which hopefully you will all benefit from longterm.
There are still a few styling issues to resolve but we wanted to get things moving again before the start of next week. Anyway, apologies for the slower updates this week but it will be worth it.Related to this article
