Futaba Sakura is the holder of the Hermit Arcana, as well as both a party member and Confidant in Persona 5 Royal. She is a skilled hacker who goes by the alias Medjed. She is introduced on 07/24 and you automatically begin her Confidant on 08/31 after clearing her palace. She is available during the daytime on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, and can be found just outside of Café Leblanc.
As with most Confidants, there isn’t a limit on when you can rank Futaba up. As long as you achieve Rank 10 before reaching an ending, you can complete the Hermit Confidant. Also, at Rank 9 you have the option to romance Futaba, which changes the dialogue options for the following rank.

Below are the skills and benefits acquired from ranking up the Hermit Confidant. The standout skills are Active Support, Emergency Shift, Final Guard, and both awakenings. Much like all party members, it is worth ranking Futaba up as doing so provides benefits in battle and access to her evolved Personas, Prometheus and Al Azif.
- Rank 1 – Moral Support: Chance to cast Kaja or party-healing magic during battle.
- Rank 2 – Mementhos Scan: Chance to fully map a floor of Mementos when entering that floor.
- Rank 4 – Position Hack: Chance to instantly Hold Up enemies when starting a battle.
- Rank 6 – Active Support: Moral Support may now Charge or recover SP.
- Rank 7 – Treasure Reboot: Chance to revive search objects in the area after battle.
- Rank 9 – Emergency Shift: Chance to swap current party with backups when 2 or more people are KO’d.
- Rank 10 – Final Guard: Chance to nullify a fatal attack to a current party member.
- Rank 10 – Second Awakening: Evolves Futaba’s Necronomicon Persona into Prometheus.
- Rank 10 – Third Awakening*: Evolves Futaba’s Prometheus Persona into Al Azif.
*Futaba’s Third Awakening is only triggered in the third semester.
