It seems the cat has been let out of the bag. For eager fans awaiting the localization and release of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, we now have a release date. The game will be called Persona 5 Strikers for its western release. Furthermore, the Persona 5 Strikers release date will be on February 23, 2021. The reveal came via a new announcement trailer that mistakenly went live on YouTube via the Atlus West official channel. The same video has since been made unavailable. Someone made a mistake, and it seems we got some premature good news out of it.
The game will release on PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, as well as for the PC. A particularly quirky sequence helped revealed the Steam port. The in-game characters were seen texting each other about the port during the Persona 5 Strikers release date trailer.
If you were not aware, this entry brings the roleplaying series into the Musou arena. Just like the Dynasty Warriors games, there will be real-time combat that mixes in the unique elements and battle system of Persona 5. The newly revealed release date also corroborates recent listings for the game in Asia.
A new persona
For those lucky enough to have experienced the game in Japan, it arrived back on February 20. That will make its release about a year before the western localization port. Nevertheless, with the strong backing of the Persona franchise and the developers at Atlus, the game definitely found its own audience outside of the RPG realm.
Now, those of us in the West will get to experience the fun and action that awaits in just about two months’ time. If you are keen to catch the Persona 5 Strikers release date trailer, fret not. Thanks to the power of the Internet, you can catch the re-uploaded trailer below.
