Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire fully funded in 24 hours

Pillars of Eternity 2 closes in on extra companion stretch goal

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has been accelerating through its stretch goals since achieving its initial $1.1mil USD goal within 24 hours. Two stretch goals have already been passed, with a third (at $1.8 million) coming up relatively fast.

So far, the game will be expanding its scope to include sub-classes for characters (up to two per class), and boosting the level cap from 16 to 18. These were added at the $1.4mil and $1.6mil marks, respectively. The $1.6mil goal also secured full Russian localisation for the game.

The funding is (at the time of writing), a touch under $1.7mil, with the next goalpost set at $1.8mil. At that point, Obsidian will channel the additional resources into a seventh Pillars of Eternity 2 companion (Xoti the priest/monk) and full Polish localisation. Beyond that, there’s a $2.0mil target for adding “player AI scripting” for companions, and full Spanish localisation.
