The developers of Portal Knights (and publisher of Terraria) are aiming towards a more RPG approach on the typical building-crafting-enemy-fighting game with dungeon-crawling and heavy boss-fights.

Warrior, Mage, and Rogue will form interesting parties with unique characters that will try to explore multiple worlds through portals and mysterious items. “The lightweight leveling system” will allow players to enjoy”unique role-playing,”and slowly adapt their own play-style.

Portal Knights is set to launch on Steam Early Access on February 25 and while there are not many important facts available about the game on Steam or at portalknights.com, the following trailer looks pretty promising and beautiful.
