At the tail end of March, both Nvidia and Mojang gave us the first taste of Minecraft with RTX. It was certainly impressive stuff and a marvel to behold for a 2009 game. As we head towards April 16, Nvidia has now pushed out its latest GeForce Game Ready driver in preparation for the arrival of Minecraft with RTX. Other supported games include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, Saints Row: The Third Remastered, and SnowRunner.
Minecraft with a new coat of paint
Once you have the drivers installed, you will be ready for the beta version of Minecraft with RTX launching on April 16. Enhancing the game with top-to-bottom path-traced ray tracing, expect to see some incredible real-time effects in all of your Minecraft worlds. Just watch the trailer below and catch your jaw.
With the new update, your previously blocky worlds will see reflections, shadows, caustics, global illumination, and other realistic lighting effects like never before. These new features will also interact naturally with physically based textures on the blocks as well. Add ray tracing to the mix, and Minecraft with RTX‘s “per-pixel emissives, volumetric effects, and other never-before-seen sights” create an entirely new experience visually.
As mentioned, the new GeForce Game Ready driver will also support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. The first-person shooter, arriving on PC on April 30, will have remastered and improved textures, animations, physically based rendering, high-dynamic range lighting, 4K monitor support, an uncapped frame rate, and support for ultra-wide monitors.
The May 22 launch of Saints Row: The Third Remastered has all the DLC you can ask for. Plus, remastered graphics and effects, new textures, and a bunch of other additions and changes will make this the definitive experience.
Lastly, Focus Home Interactive and Saber Interactive’s brand new SnowRunner releases this April 28. Get ready for the open-world experience with the most advanced terrain simulation ever.
The new GeForce Game Ready driver will also add support for three new G-SYNC Compatible displays. It will ensure you get that smoother, clearer, and more enjoyable gaming experience with Variable Refresh Rate.
