Prepare For War With The Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War Launch Trailer (2)

With Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software’s latest Call of Duty title just a few weeks away, anticipation is high for the next blockbuster shooter. Naturally, the hype needs to keep going, and we have been rewarded with the new Black Ops Cold War launch trailerAs you would expect, it is certainly a lot of explosions, gunfire, and a conspiracy on a global scale that will excite even the most jaded of conspiracy theorists.

Taking place in the 80s, you will be part of the team sent to do the work nobody is meant to know about. Deniable operations, they call it. All these in order to stop an evil masterplan that has taken decades to unfold. Sounds like a perfect afternoon if you are a first-person shooter fan. The threat is Perseus, an entity that is based on a real-life spy who had supposedly gotten away scot-free after infiltrating the Western intelligence agencies. While we certainly do not know who or what Perseus is in real life, it is likely we will get some creative interpretation in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The launch trailer also features plenty of Ronald Reagan, who is synonymous with the Cold War. The extent of how the player will interact with the President of the era remains to be seen. He is assisted by the likes of CIA agent Russell Adler, cool shades and all. It is very likely that we will see more of Adler as we participate in the shadow wars. Of course, fan-favorites Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson are all back for the fight in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

That is just the single-player portion of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Multiplayer will take you across the world from the deserts of Angola to the cold Black Sea. Expect to experience crossplay in 6v6, 12v12 and even 40-player Fireteam battles. Not to forget the popular Zombies mode with the debut of the Dark Aether story, “Die Maschine.” Unfortunately, PC players will have to wait a year to get their hands on the PlayStation exclusive Zombies Onslaught mode.
