In a Stunning Gesture, Indies band together with Humble Bundle for Cancer Patient

Today we want to send a special message out to our readers, that we hope you can help spread, and donate to if you can. Writer Brandon Boyer, who has contributed to Boing Boing, Edge magazine, and Gamasutra, was saddled with a large medical bill and needs our help.

Not to dwell on this too much, but here’s the gist of it: Brandon had his liver and intestines removed to avoid the spread of cancer early last year. Unfortunately, his insurance coverage was turned down by Humana, leaving him with a huge medical bill. Brandon has no possible recourse to pay for his medical coverage than to turn to crowdfunding.

Several indies have come together with Humble to set up a very special Humble Bundle to benefit Brandon. You can see the games available and clickthrough to donate below:

Alternately, Brandon has also set up a GoFundMe, which you can see and donate to below:

Let’s help someone from the games industry get back on their feet! Donate if you can, and share links to the two donations drives. You can always link to here for convenience. Good luck Brandon!
