Following the Redner Group’s unfortunate outburst about restricting review code, 2K games have ended their association with the PR company.
As you may have seen on the site, the Redner Group used Twitter to voice frustration with poor review scores for Duke Nukem Forever, stating: “too many went too far with their reviews… we r [sic] reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn’t based on today’s venom.”
The post was subsequently removed and replaced with (multiple) apologies, but it seems the damage was already done.
In a short statement, 2K Games say “2K Games does not endorse the comments made by Jim Redner and we can confirm that The Redner Group no longer represents our products. We have always maintained a mutually-respectful working relationship with the press and do not condone his actions in any way.”
