Retailer Sees ‘Strong Sales’ Of Cataclysm Collector’s Edition

Retailer ShopTo has told IncGamers it has found that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition has enjoyed ‘strong sales’ during the run up to the game’s official launch today.
According to the retailer’s Phil Driver, the £55 pack, which boasts an art book and a behind-the-scenes DVD among its extras, is popular as pc gamers still want a physical product with extra content and merchandise and not just a download.
“Cataclysm has performed very well for us and looks like being our strongest PC title of the year,” Phil Driver said.
“What we did see were very strong sales of the Cataclysm Collectors Edition which sold almost half as many units as the standard edition for us.
“I think with PC Games it is important to remember that although downloads have an ever growing place in the market many customers still want a physical product and extra content and merchandise such as you find in a special editions.”
