Rocket League gets into the festive spirit with Frosty Fest

Deck the halls with goals and volleys.

The annual Rocket League holiday event, Frosty Fest, returns to the ‘soccar’ arenas on December 16. Well, one arena, Beckwith Park, to be exact. This wintery celebration brings cosmetic items, Golden Gifts, limited-time modes, and a trunk more to the game.

Frosty Fest kicks off at 11 AM ET. At that time, you’ll be given a list of event-specific challenges to complete. Completing these challenges is how you unlock the event’s cosmetics. There’s also a Ski-Free Player Banner that you can claim for free from the Item Shop. So, don’t forget to cruise by there.

There are three car decals that can be earned. The Naughty List Octane Decal, the Nutcracker Dominus Decal, and the Reindeer Game Breakout Decal. There’s also a cozy-looking Flannel Paint Finish. The collection of car cosmetics is completed with the Ring-A-Ling Wheels and the Drummer Hat Topper.

Frosty Fest also includes some items that can be used to spruce up your player profile. You can let others know how much you love the winter holidays with the Iced Out Avatar Border, Cold Shoulder Player Banner, and the hilarious Abominable Throwman Player Title.

The real treat of the event is the return of the Golden Gifts. These can be earned through a repeatable challenge and will reward you with items from the Zephyr, Elevation, and Vindicator Item Series. You can earn a total of five Golden Gifts.

Frosty Fest rings in the end of the year with two limited-time game modes. Winter Breakaway will run from December 16 to 24. This game mode takes place in the old-school Snowy stadium and replaces the ball with a puck. Then there’s Spike Rush. It takes the Spike power-up from Rumble and enables it on all cars. With one catch, the ball carrier can’t boost. Spike Rush will be playable from December 24 to January 3, 2022.
