Publisher hopes crime title will be ‘blockbuster event of 2011’.
In a bid to achieve their lofty target, Rockstar are throwing cash at a massive advertising campaign across various mediums.
L.A. Noire’s TV campaign began last week with spots during the Champions League semi-final matches on ITV. The next four weeks will see TV adverts across satellite and terrestrial channels – five million males are expected to be reached. On demand ads for 4OD, Sky Anytime, Sky Box Office and Blinkbox.
A sponsorship deal with Sky Movies Crime and Thriller is also up and running.
Online hasn’t been left out either. YouTube and Google will run promo videos, the former’s banner being taken over completely during launch. Ads will also run across online destinations, including GameSpot, TheSun.co.uk, SkySports.com, MSN and more.
A three week poster campaign throughout the London Underground network has also just begun.
Cover ‘wraps’ have also been bought on London publications Shortlist and the Evening Standard, with major national papers – such as The Times and The Guardian – sporting dedicated inserts.
L.A. Noire is due for launch on 20 May. Expect our review in time for launch day.
