Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song remastered pc announcement

Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song is the latest title in Square Enix’s catalog to get the remaster treatment. Simply unveiled as Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered, this re-release will feature the typical features of a remaster. It’ll be making its way over to PC later in winter 2022.

Square Enix has been on a roll these last few years with its remasters of classic games. The company has amassed quite a reputation for re-releases in general, with Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered being the latest. The vast amount of Kingdom Hearts re-releases come to mind, as well as the more recent Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection. We also saw Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition come out recently. And let’s not forget that the company brought Romancing SaGa 3 to PC back in 2019.

Re-experience a classic JRPG

Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song first released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005. What makes this game even more interesting is that it’s a remake of the first Romancing SaGa on the SNES. We’ve had a few titles in the SaGa franchise here and there over the years, but the series has been stagnant for a while now. So the news that Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered is on its way is indeed exciting.

The official website for the Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered shows off some screenshots for the game. It also houses various bits of art for each of the main characters. From here you can also check out the trailer that accompanied the remaster’s announcement. Judging from the trailer, most of the game’s identity has been left unchanged. But since this is a remaster, players can expect to see support for HD resolutions, updated controls, and a handful of quality of life features.

For now, we don’t have a solid date for Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered‘s release. It’s currently slated for a winter 2022 release, but it could easily creep into 2023. We’ll just have to wait and see, the fact that we’re getting this at all is a really cool thing, though.
